Councillor’s Corner
Dear Resident,
Welcome to spooky season! To all who celebrate, wishing a happy Diwali and a joyous Thanksgiving. Also, a blessed Yom Kippur to those who observe. Mid-fall brings with it cooler days and earlier nights. I hope you are all staying warm and cozy during this post-equinox lull.
I had a wonderful time celebrating Carmen Transportation’s 40th Anniversary with their friendly, tight-knit team. They have been operating as a local, Canadian business keeping our economy moving with integrity and dedication for years and I wish them continued success in doing so!
Also, I was happy to visit Nile Academy’s Political Club for an engaging, multi-faceted conversation about civic engagement. It was great to see these young scholars take such a keen interest in politics, and I look forward to seeing how they continue to shape the world with their unique perspectives!
Lastly, it was a pleasure to celebrate the Toronto Blue Jays’ big win at last week’s Council meeting! Congratulations to our Mighty Jays!
Final reminder for all seniors and folks with disabilities who have not yet applied, the deadline for this year’s Property Tax and Utility Rebate application is October 31st. If you have questions about eligibility or need help with an application, please contact my office.
