Hit the ice: Natrel Rink at Harbourfront Centre

The completion of the Queen’s Quay revitalization project makes this scenic lakefront skating venue even more enticing. Skates and helmets are available to rent, there’s a heated indoor change room with lockers and washrooms, the rink-side restaurant Boxcar Social, and last but not least, admission is always free.

Winter at Ontario Place

A winter festival transforms the city’s waterfront. This free admission event will feature various winter-themed activities, including the Winter Light Exhibition, which displays 12 illuminated projects by local artists that will project, shape, transmit, reflect or contain light. Open to the public seven days a week, visitors will also get a chance to skate on a synthetic rink and take in film screenings at the newly re-opened Cinesphere. Bonus: there will be a bonfire to warm up around! Now until March 18, 2018

Toronto Light Festival

Brighten up those cold, dark winter nights – literally. The Toronto Light Festival returns to the Distillery District, transforming it into a visual journey and imaginative adventure that will entertain and inspire any visitors. The festival is one of the largest open-air lighting galleries in all of North America, featuring works from both local and international artists. January 19 – March 4, 2018
