Skateathon with St. Simon

On March 4th, St. Simon Catholic School elementary students came to skate at Joseph Bannon Park for a fun filled and mildly chilly afternoon. The students had a ball in the snow, drinking over 300 cups of hot chocolate and playing on the playground. A big thank you to all of the teachers and volunteers who helped fit the students with skates and made this event possible.

As well, we would like to thank Silvio Carnovale from the Emery Village Hockey Training Rinks who collected used skates for the event! Thanks to everyone who came out and supported this great community event! Thank you Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti, Mike Martin, Donna Kovachis who helped to ensure that the rink was cleaned and safe for the students to use. It was a great afternoon that was made possible because of some great people!

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported this great community event!
